The future look of Belleville’s former Memorial Arena is now taking shape.
TaskForce Engineering Inc, that bought the arena earlier this year, has announced that John Pace of PACE Design is creating a design for the new Memorial Market Place.
The newly-renovated building is expected to open in 2021.
The ground floor will be a “grand concourse” with 11 vendor stalls on one side and three restaurants on the other.
The company says all spaces will be open to the concourse to promote pedestrian interaction.
The second floor mezzanine will feature office, studio and gallery space.
It will have an open-air walkway with a view of the marketplace below.
