The City of Belleville announced today it will be receiving $2,870,200 in funding from the provincial and federal governments.
The funding comes through the Safe Restart Agreement to relieve COVID-19 financial pressures. Funds not required in 2020 are being placed in city reserves to support potential COVID-19 related costs in 2021.
The municipality will report back to the province in March 2021 on the 2020 COVID-19 operating costs and pressures, the city’s financial position and how the money was allocated.
Hastings, Lennox and Addington MPP Daryl Kramp announced the city is receiving an additional $903,985 to support city transit operations which have been operating free of charge since March.
