The third and final phase of Belleville’s Bridge Street West Cycling Plan has been approved.
Al White Landscaping and Excavating will build the last phase of the project, which will cost just under $760,000 and includes a three-metre-wide asphalt path running from Meagher Place to Avonlough Road.
The plan also includes lighting, two rest areas with benches and trash cans, plus landscaping and fencing, to limit impacts on neighbouring properties.
Council also approved a $100,000 contribution to Loyalist College, which is planning to finish off the bike path on its own property, including a bridge over a creek at the back of the school.
