UPDATE @ 12:02 p.m.: Power has been restored to thousands in the region following a power outage this morning.
Both Hydro One and Elexicon outage maps cite no power outages at this time.
The cause of the outage was unknown and it lasted for around three hours.
Many thousands of people around the Quinte region are without power Monday morning.
Shortly after 8:30 a.m., multiple outages were reported around the region.
Outages in Belleville and Quinte West, are affecting several thousand homes and businesses.
Reported outages are also in Prince Edward County, the Central Hastings area, Tyendinaga, Stirling-Rawdon area and more.
Electricity has begun returning for some.
