Domestic Disturbance
On August 9, 2020 at approximately 5 a.m., city police attended a south-east housing complex in regards to a domestic. Upon arrival, officers found a male BBQing on the front lawn and a female party who was very intoxicated yelling at the male. Police attempted to calm the situation down, however the female involved was uncooperative and continued her antics into the street. Officers placed the female under arrest for being Intoxicated in a Public Place and transported her to the Belleville Police Station to sober up. She was later released, charged under the Ontario Liquor Licence Act.
Drive Suspended
On August 9, 2020 at approximately 2:15 p.m., city police conducted a traffic stop on Elgin St. The investigative stop revealed that the driver was a suspended driver in the province of Ontario. Police also found that there was no insurance on the vehicle and the plates that were on the vehicle did not belong to the car.
A 29-year-old Belleville man was charged with the following offences;
- Driving While Under Suspension
- Drive – Plates Not Authorized
- Drive – No Insurance
Police seized the plates from the vehicle and had the vehicle towed from the scene.
Motor Vehicle Collision
On August 9, 2020 at approximately 2:30 p.m., police dispatch received a report of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Wallbridge-Loyalist Rd. and Moira St. W. Police noted upon arrival that although there was considerable damage to both vehicles, there were no injuries.
A 30-year-old Belleville man was charged with one count of Careless Driving. Both vehicles involved required removal via recovery tow.
Group Home Disturbance
On August 9, 2020 at approximately 5 p.m., city police were dispatched to a local group home in regards to a tenant that was being aggressive with one of the workers. Police were also notified that the suspect then fled the group home and began running into traffic. Officers on scene quickly apprehended the female suspect due to her disregard for self care and the aggressive behaviour she continued to present towards police and the group home staff. The 21-year-old female was taken to the Belleville Police Service where she could calm down until group home staff were able to receive her back into their care.
