Quick thinking by a victim of a break, enter and theft in the supper hour yesterday (Thursday) led to the arrest of a Belleville man.
A west end residence was broken into by a man around 6:30 while the female resident was still there.
She grabbed her phone and dialed 911 while the thief ran away with some stolen items.
Belleville police officers, who were familiar with the suspect, arrested a 49-year-old man nearby and charged him with break, enter, and theft along with breach of probation.
