Hastings-Quinte paramedics continue to provide extra services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In June, the province provided $663,600 to Hastings County to support the temporary pandemic pay for emergency health services.
County CAO Jim Pine tells Quinte News that the money spent is being tracked and he expects it will cover the expenses.
He adds that the Hastings-Quinte paramedics continue to do all the COVID-19 testing at assessment centres on behalf of the hospitals, and more.
He says, “It’s stabilized but those kind of expenses are still being made.”
Pine pointed out, “Meanwhile, the province has still not provided an official funding announcement on the regular Hastings-Quinte land ambulance service for the budget year 2020-2021 year.”
