Prince Edward County council will be asked to provide some financial help to a child care facility at its meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) night.
The HUB Child and Family Care organization hopes to build a 3,200 square foot addition to its existing 6,400 square foot space in Picton and due to COVID-19 has experienced a drop in its revenues and ability to fundraise.
The HUB is asking council to forgive almost $4,000 in building permit fees and over $17,000 in development charges to help it move ahead on its expansion.
County staff is recommending the building permit fees be waived and deferring the development charges until next year allowing the HUB to apply for a community grant to cover those costs.
