A Quinte West woman has been charged with obstruction after a crash on Telephone Road near Waites Road, in Cramahe Township, this past Friday.
Emergency Crews were called to the scene around 6:45 p.m. after a black GMC pickup went into the ditch and hit a hydro pole, before crossing the roadway and hitting a tree.
Police say the driver and a front seat passenger fled the scene, leaving two people in the back of the truck with minor injuries.
The Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit were called in but were unable to find the two people who had left the scene and investigators say one of the women who was left there gave them a fake name.
Thirty-four-year-old Shannon Lee Hill was charged with obstructing a peace officer and personation with intent to avoid arrest.
Anyone who might have information on the crash is being asked to call Quinte West OPP or Crimestoppers.
