Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a neighbour dispute Thursday afternoon at approximately 3:15 p.m.
The complainant reported that their neighbour had threatened them with a firearm.
Officers located and arrested the accused without incident.
An unloaded air gun was seized as part of the investigation.
Jim Sherritt (age 72) of Asphodel-Norwood Township is charged with:
- Uttering threats-cause death or bodily harm
- Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Uttering threats-damage or injure animal
- Pointing a firearm
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on October 8, 2020.
