Impaired driver
On July 18, 2020 at 11:55 p.m., police attended a disturbance at a west end residence. One of the involved parties had clearly been drinking and was given advice by the officers on scene. The police then departed the scene, and a short time later, the same male was observed driving on Bridge Street West. Police conducted a traffic stop, and the male was arrested for impaired driving. Bradley Douglas, 22, of Belleville was charged with impaired driving and driving with more than 80mgs. He will appear in court on August 27.
Fail to stop for police
On July 18, 2020 at 11:30 p.m., police attempted to stop a dirt bike on Bell Boulevard after learning that it was improperly plated. As the officer attempted to stop the bike, it fled at a high rate of speed. Police located the dirt bike a short time later, and the driver fled again on Hamilton Road. Due to safety concerns for the driver, police did not pursue the dirt bike. The dirt bike was described as being lime green and white in colour. The driver was described as in his 20s and very thin. Theft suspect arrested on warrant
On July 18, 2020 at 8:45 a.m., police responded to a theft complaint at a west end address. While speaking with the involved parties, it was determined that there was a misunderstanding, and the property was not stolen. The suspect in the matter was checked by police, and he was wanted in London for weapons, property, and drug offences. The 51-year-old Belleville man was arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service where he was then picked up by London Police and held for a bail hearing.
