Ontario’s Premier says it’s “great news” that 24 of the province’s 27 health regions will be able to move to stage three of the COVID-19 reopening plan as of this Friday, July 17.
Doug Ford made the announcement today and says there are a number of businesses and service providers that will be able to reopen, with physical distancing restrictions in place, as of 12:01 a.m. this Friday.
” Dine-in restaurants, bars, gyms and fitness centres, most personal care services, live shows, performing arts and movie theatres, casinos, recreational facilities and activities, team sports and live sporting events, and tour and guide services”.
He says indoor gathering limits will also increase to a maximum of 50 people, while outdoor gathering limits will increase to a maximum of 100 people, but people are still advised to practice physical distancing with those who are outside of their 10-person social circle.
Ford added they they’re still working out protocols for getting kids back to school, but he wants to see that done by the fall, adding that Education Minister Stephen Lecce will be making an announcement on that later today as well.
