Belleville council will discuss a proposal for a Belleville Celebrity Walk of Fame in the downtown district at its meeting Monday.
A city employee presented a concept to council last year that would see plaques celebrating local celebrities installed in the sidewalk near the Empire Theatre.
Council asked for a staff report at that time and Monday will see a report recommending council not go ahead with the project.
Staff says ongoing installation and maintenance costs could be a problem and that a community group should instead take the lead and manage the entire project.
