Northumberland OPP have laid charges in connection with a family dispute in the Harwood area this past Friday.
Officers were called about an assault, around 5:30 p.m. and arrived on scene to find a victim with head injuries, resulting from the reported family dispute.
Police say the suspect, whose name wasn’t released, was intoxicated and became belligerent, allegedly threatening and assaulting officers.
As a result of the incident a 27-year-old from Hamilton Township was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats and assaulting a peace officer.
No other details were released and police say the suspect was held in custody for a bail hearing.
