The provincial government has given a road upgrade project in Bancroft the green light.
The Hastings Street North project is getting $2.2 million to upgrade 1.4 km of the road, which is part of Hwy. 62 through the Connecting Links program of the Ontario’s Action Plan: Responding to COVID-19.
The project will see new asphalt, storm sewers and traffic signal upgrades.
MPP Daryl Kramp says it seems everyone who lives in or passes through Bancroft uses North Hastings Street and this investment will make that travel safer for motorists and pedestrians.
The 2020-21 Connecting Links program supports municipalities across the province to help them build, repair or replace municipal roads and bridges that connect two ends of a provincial highway through a community or to a border crossing.
