While a serious outbreak involving almost 200 migrant farm workers in Essex Windsor has shut a big greenhouse operation down, so far there has been no issue with COVID-19 on farms in Hastings and Prince Edward counties.
According to Quinte Health Care officials, farm workers from one local farm will be tested by a mobile unit for the coronavirus Monday and plans are in the works to have those from eight other farms tested in the near future.
Meanwhile, in the month of June, over 6,000 virus tests were completed at QHC’s covid Assessment Centres.
An additional 500+ people were tested at pop-up drive-thru assessment centres held in Tweed, Madoc, Marmora, and Stirling.
