The Kingston branch of the Veteran Society Motorcycle Club climbed aboard their Harleys and enjoyed a cool ride west today (Saturday) to support an organization dedicated to serving veterans, first responders, and civilians.
The bikers arrived at the Veteran Farmer location in east end Belleville (Old Highway 2 at Haig Road) in the noon hour and donated $1,000 to the non-profit organization.
The Veteran Farmer, whose first location was in New Brunswick, was founded by Lloyd and Autumn Farmer who are veterans themselves, and focuses on providing advice and programs to serve veterans and others with an emphasis on the use of medicinal cannabis.
A significant number of veterans and first responders deal with stress-related issues.
Cannabis is not available at the location which serves as a gathering place for help, information, and fellowship.
The Veteran Farmer is a membership-based organization and more programs and services will become available as membership grows in the Quinte region.
The Veteran Farmer has members from coast to coast to coast and more are welcome.
