Highway 401 east through Colborne was slow going for several hours yesterday (Sunday) after a tractor trailer fire.
According to Today’s Northumberland Alnwick/Haldimand Township firefighters were called out to the 401 to find the tractor completely engulfed in flames just west of Colborne at around 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon.
Flames then spread to the empty trailer.
The transport’s driver was not injured.
Highway 401 east was either closed or partially closed until around midnight.
