There was a fatal collision in the Bayside area on Friday night.
Quinte West OPP, fire and paramedics responded to the accident on Hamilton Road between Meyers Creek Road and Whites Road around 7:10 p.m.
Both drivers had to be extricated using the jaws of life, according to Fire Chief John Whelan. One of the drivers was transported to Kingston General Hospital with serious injuries and the other driver was pronounced dead.
No charges have been laid and the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
The area on Hamilton Road was closed for approximately seven hours but reopened around 3 a.m. Saturday morning.
