A 19 year old Belleville man faces charges after a store clerk was assaulted with jars of cheese sause and salsa last weekend. Investigating officers say the man was attempting to steal the items and a bag of tostitos from a north-end convenience store on Sunday. but, when the store clerk confronted him, the suspect threw the cheese sauce at the clerk’s head. The man is charged with assault with a weapon and theft. Fortunately for the clerk the throw was off the mark.
