On Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at about 8:00 p.m., police were dispatched to the east end of Cobourg regarding two males fighting on the street.
Police attended the area and located one of the males involved near the intersection of Division Street and Buck Street.
Police observed the accused walk into the middle of the road and purposely damage a southbound vehicle.
During the arrest, the accused resisted and failed to comply with police command.
As a result of the investigation, Brandon Bates, a 27-year-old male from Harwood, was charged with the following offences:
-Mischief
-Assault Police with Intent to Resist Arrest
-Cause Disturbance
-Being Intoxicated in a Public Place
-Fail to Comply with Probation
Bates was held for a bail hearing.
