It looked briefly like our region’s streak of days without a new COVID-19 case had ended today, but public health officials say there was an error on the health unit’s coronavirus dashboard.
The Hastings-Prince Edward area has been sitting at 43 confirmed cases since May 18 and a 44th case was added by mistake today, but has since been corrected.
There are still just five active cases of COVID-19 in the area with tests results expected soon to see if any of those cases can be cleared.
In total, healthcare providers locally have conducted more than 7,400 test swabs.
The latest numbers from Northumberland County show two active cases with one person in hospital.
