As has every other council in the area Brighton council wants to make it easier for eateries to expand and open patio’s so they can resume business as soon as possible.
However, applications to extend or open patio’s must still be made to the municipality.
Meanwhile, planning is under way to hold an “open air street mall” in Brighton’s downtown Saturday July 11. If successful, similar events could be held in future to bolster local businesses.
In other news Brighton council has approved a one year contract running to the end of the year with its 42 full and part-time unionized employees.
The CUPE members will receive a 2% pay increase.
