Book readers are taking advantage of the new “pick-up service” at Quinte West Library during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Quinte West is heading into the third week of the new system which allows the library to follow provincial guidelines but serve library members at the same time.
CEO Suzanne Humphries tells Quinte News there are about 40 appointments a day, some using a bundle service whereby staff provide a bag of books.
Humphries adds, “It’s going smoothly. A slow and steady stream of books being returned (from the pre-pandemic service). Just right, hitting the right mark. The quarantine is for 72 hours before the books are checked in, virus free, for next user.”
Also good news is the extended fine-free policy.
