Last Friday was the last day of work for employees at the long-standing Sonoco paper mill in the city of Quinte West.
Unifor union, Canada’s largest private sector union, represented the 81 workers who lost their jobs.
There has been a paper mill at the site just north of Trenton since 1880.
Efforts were made to find a buyer for the mill but were unsuccessful.
