The Belleville Police Service responded to 66 calls for service from June 11, 2020 at 5 a.m. to June 12, 2020 at 5:00 a.m.
Liquor Licence Act
On June 11, 2020, at approximately 10:41 p.m., police attended an east end location for a family dispute. Police officers realized that the family dispute was fueled by alcohol. A 31-year-old Belleville man was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place for his own safety and the safety of others. He was later released once deemed capable of caring for himself.
Animal Welfare
On June 11, 2020, at approximately 12:25 p.m., officers attended the parking lot of a business in the north end regarding a dog left in a locked vehicle. Luckily the owner of the pet was away from their vehicle for a very short period of time and the animal was not showing any signs of distress. Belleville police would like to remind pet owners that leaving your pet in your vehicle could result in charges. Although it may not appear to be very hot outside, the inside of your vehicle could still heat up very quickly in the sun.
