While the province continually moves to loosen restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic the CEO of Belleville’s Chamber of Commerce stresses that the organization will be cautious when staging community events.
At a virtual meeting of Belleville’s Economic and Destination Development Committee today (Thursday) councillor Sean Kelly was skeptical about “virtual” community events being successful.
The Chamber’s Jill Raycroft said the situation was complex and constantly changing.
The Belleville Chamber of Commerce, along with the city, has already planned virtual celebrations for Canada Day and the Waterfront and Multicultural Festival.
Raycroft adds that soon it might be possible to stage larger events with a combination of in-person and virtual attendance.
