Two men have been arrested after a Northumberland OPP officer made a traffic stop on the westbound Highway 401 last week.
Police say when the officer tried to pull over a black Mazda, they noticed the driver and passenger swap seats before the car stopped, just east of the Percy Street exit.
The officer immediately attempted to arrest the passenger for obstructing police and says the man became belligerent, resisted arrest and attempted to run onto the highway, before being hit with a Taser and taken into custody.
Thirty-eight-year-old Jason Collins of Marmora and Lake has been charged with driving while prohibited, obstructing police, escaping lawful custody and speeding.
Twenty-eight-year-old Jason Lavecque, also of Marmora and Lake, was charged with obstruction and breaching probation.
Both were released from custody with court dates in August.
