On Friday June 5, 2020 Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) members of the Peterborough, Northumberland, City of Kawartha Lakes, Caledon and Nottawasaga Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), executed two Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA) warrants as a result of an extensive drug trafficking investigation.
The OPP Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit and uniform members assisted with the execution of the search warrants that took place in the town of Campbellford at a residence on Trentview Crescent, and Bridge Street West.
Investigators arrested three individuals and seized a quantity of cocaine, crack cocaine, crystal meth, cash and other drug trafficking related items. The street value of the seized cocaine is approximately $7,600.
Jeremy Richardson (age 39) and Natasha Johnson (age 31) both of Trent Hills, Ontario were arrested and each charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by cr ime under $5,000
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Robert Rutledge (age 58) also from Trent Hills, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
Johnson and Rutledge were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on July 29, 2020.
Richardson was held for a bail hearing in Peterborough on Friday June 5, 2020.
A fourth individual also from the Trent Hills area was arrested during the warrant execution and held for a Show Cause Hearing on the strength of an unrelated warrant.
