The YMCA of Central East Ontario has made the hard decision to cancel popular summer camps this year.
The organization announced today (Monday) CampAbility and Helping Hands camps will not run this year.
David Allen, President and CEO of Central East Ontario felt it was unsafe to bring the campers and staff together this summer with the close proximity and hands-on nature of the camps.
He said it wasn’t only the best decision but the only decision they could make.
Allen says he appreciates the support of parents and families in the community for their understanding.
