A company that has moved into the former Sears Warehouse in Belleville has scored a big win in their plans to produce cannabis.
Hexo Corporation has announced it has received its Health Canada licence amendment for the sale of cannabis.
It includes dried and fresh cannabis, cannabis extracts, edible cannabis products, lotions, balms, and oils.
Sebastien St-Louis is the CEO and co-founder of Hexo, and says receiving the sales licence is very valuable news for their beverage production in their joint venture with Molson Coors Canada.
He adds that the licence allows them to increase their processing capability significantly, grow the company, and roll out more products.
St-Louis finished by saying Belleville will see specially designed automation which will streamline their process, helping in long-term cost reduction.
Their Belleville operation will act as their development, processing, and distribution hub, and the company says they’re looking forward to showcasing Belleville to investors, local stakeholders, and media.
