UPDATE @ 4:35 p.m.:
It looks like the carrying place swing bridge will be closed throughout the night tonight.
The bridge was damaged early this afternoon when a tractor and its wagon jack-knifed.
Authorities had said the bridge would not be able to open until repairs and an inspection was completed and it doesn’t appear that will be able to happen before tomorrow.
Drivers who typically use the Carrying Place Swing bridge will have to take another route.

Motorists may need to find an alternate route this afternoon.
Loyalist Parkway is closed between Twelve O’Clock Point Road and Shore Road in Carrying Place.
A tractor and wagon jackknifed on the swing bridge and damaged the bridge. The bridge is closed and will remain closed until inspected.
