The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board and CUPE Local 1022 have ratified a new collective agreement.
This agreement covers September 1, 2019 to August 31, 2022 and was reached on May 12.
The agreement will see a one percent general wage increase effective September 1, 2019, September 1, 2020 and September 1, 2021, as well as a shift premium increase of one percent effective September 1 this year.
Other increases include: uniform expense reimbursement, combined safety footwear and uniform reimbursement and expense reimbursement increases to authorized use of personal vehicles for board business.
Support staff covered by the CUPE collective agreement include: central support workers, communicative disorder assistants, custodians and maintenance workers, designated early childhood educators, educational assistants, intervenors, IT technologists and analysts, library technicians, school secretaries and student supervision monitors.
Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board Director of Education Sean Monteith stated this agreement benefited both parties.
