COVID-19 testing is becoming more accessible locally, but local health care staff say they want to keep some protocols in place to avoid overcrowding and lengthy wait times.
A release from Quinte Health Care today says anyone who has at least one symptom of COVID-19, is at risk of being exposed to the virus through work, or is worried they’ve been in contact with someone who has the virus, is now eligible for testing at one of four local assessment centres in Bancroft, Belleville, Picton, or Trenton.
Anyone looking to make an appointment can call QHC’s COVID-19 hot line at 613-961-5544, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
If you’re in the Bancroft area you can avoid long distance charges by calling 613-332-2825 extension 2222.
If your symptoms are severe, or you’re having trouble breathing, QHC staff say you should call 911, or go straight to the hospital.
