An inmate at Bath Institution in Kingston has died in custody.
Communications Manager Kyle Lawlor says Pierre Carriere died on May 17.
Carriere had been serving a sentence for first degree murder since December 1996.
In any event of an inmate’s death, Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances.
Next of kin have also been notified.
