The flag at Belleville City Hall has been lowered to honour Captain Jenn Casey, as the City of Belleville community joins all of Canada in mourning her death.
Captain Casey was the Public Relations Officer of the Royal Canadian Forces Snowbirds who died in a tragic plane crash at Kamloops Airport on May 17.
Many throughout our region know Captain Casey as Jennifer Howell, a former employee of Quinte Broadcasting where she worked as a news anchor and reporter prior to joining the Canadian Armed Forces.
Mayor Mitch Panciuk says we were fortunate to have Jenn as a member of our Belleville community and we extend our deepest condolences to her family, the Snowbirds Team and all members of the Canadian Armed Forces.
The flag at City Hall will be lowered until Thursday as a tribute to Captain Casey.
