A man from Clarington, who has ties to the Brighton area where he worked as a self-employed handy man, is facing a long list of charges after a joint police investigation in Northumberland and Peterborough.
The investigation began this past January after Peterborough Police arrested a man, following reports that he was using electronic equipment to look through the window of a home.
Investigators with the OPP looked further into the case and ended up using a search warrant to find more electronic devices, which held evidence connected to similar incidents between 2017 and this year in Peterborough and other incidents between 2010 and 2018 around Brighton.
As a result, police have charged 36-year-old Daniel Joseph McConnell with 24 counts of voyeurism, three counts each of possessing and making child porn, a further three counts of breaking and entering, 13 counts of criminal harassment and a single count of sexual assault.
Northumberland OPP say more charges are pending as their investigation continues and they are asking anyone who might have information on the case, or thinks they may be a victim, to contact Constable Heidi Chard of the Northumberland Major Crime Unit at 613 475-1313 or toll free at 1 888 310-1122.
