On Wednesday April 29, 2020 at approximately 6:00 a.m., officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a residence on Scott Avenue in Frankford.
There was an active police operation involving one person inside a residence.
The OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) and Crisis Negotiator were called in to assist at the scene.
There was no threat to public safety, however, Scott Avenue was closed for several hours.
The accused was arrested without incident shortly after 10:00 a.m. inside the residence.
A 24-year-old from Trenton has been charged with the following offences:
- Break and Enter
- Mischief under $5,000
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Criminal Harassment – Repeatedly Communicate
The accused has been held for bail and is scheduled to appear by video in court today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
The name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
