Aubertin tells Quinte News that officers are out addressing those complaints, along with the usual calls for service, but says the police force is trying to take an education over enforcement approach.
He says those calls are being added to the list of usual service calls that officers have to deal with.
When asked about officers being rude to people who call in with social distancing-related complaints, he says he can’t speak to specific issues, but anyone who’s having an issue members of the police service should let them know.
Aubertin added that residents shouldn’t be deterred from making complaints about those violating COVID-19 restrictions, but that HPE Public Health was responsible for handling most of the business-related issues.
