He says that they are “testing an appropriate amount”, with the two counties having a case positivity rate of about 3.8%, which is below the provincial average.
He added that testing can be done in a variety of places like family doctors’ offices, testing centres, or the hospital, and that adds to the challenge of tracking the number of tests that have been done.
Oglaza says the next big key is to stop the spread in long term care facilities by trying to isolate confirmed cases, potential contacts to those cases, healthy residents and staff, into separate groups.
Oglaza cautions that while things are looking good, we should be relying on provincial health care authorities for guidance moving forward.

Hastings County CAO Jim Pine tells Quinte News that at Hastings Manor, four residents are quarantined after testing positive for the virus, one resident is in hospital after contracting it and four staff members are off work after testing positive as well.
He’s continuing to encourage anyone who thinks they may have COVID-19 and is showing symptoms, to contact HPE Public Health.
We’ll have a full Quarantine Q&A feature with Medical of Health Dr. Piotr Oglaza this afternoon.
