Officials with Highland Shores Children’s Aid say while their doors may be locked, their work in watching out for the community’s most vulnerable never stops and that work couldn’t be done without the work of volunteers.
With Volunteer Appreciation Week coming up, the local CAS wants to recognize the 49 people who logged almost 11,000 volunteer hours and drove more than 568,000 kilometres to serve children and youth in our community.
Those volunteers not only contribute by driving children to appointments or school, or working with youth in care, but also by serving as members of the Highland Shores CAS Board of Directors.
The board meets 10 times a year and is currently holding meetings via teleconference.
If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer, or a board member, you can call 1-800-267-0570 ext 2600, or click here to visit the Highland Shores CAS Website.
