Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a single vehicle motor collision that occurred yesterday on County Road 46 at approximately 11:15 a.m.
The uninjured driver was found to be under the influence of drugs.
A 29-year-old from Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
· Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs
· Insecure load
· Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
The accused had their vehicle seized and driver’s licence suspended.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 7, 2020.
The Peterborough County OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming drugs.
Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight.
