The business community in Quinte West is rallying to help out front line workers.
Wendy Warner of the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation put the call out for personal protective equipment (PPE) from the Quinte West community as hospitals and other front line workers deal with COVID-19.
Peter May of Research Castings Inc. got the email from Suzanne Andrews at the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce and knew he wanted to help.
May was able to get 5,000 face shields to donate to Quinte Health Care.
He told Quinte News three weeks ago they wanted to see what they could make to support the cause, but he was able to get a hold of a company that could send them 10,000 masks, which he says is more than they could ever make.
The first shipment of face shields was donated on Tuesday afternoon with the other face shields expected later this week.
