The Special Investigations Unit has invoked their mandate after a single vehicle collision in Napanee.
Lennox and Addington OPP report around 12:30 this morning (Monday), police observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on the eastbound 401.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and the vehicle fled.
A short time later, the vehicle crashed on the Palace Road off-ramp.
Both people in the vehicle were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The eastbound off-ramp remains closed for an investigation.
Police will be releasing no further information regarding this incident.
