Trenton Golden Hawks Captain Samuel Duchesne has been named the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Defenceman of the Year.
The 20 year-old from Brampton finished with 55 points, second most among OJHL defenders and earned player of the month honours for October and was named an OJHL all star.
He’s expected to announce which Canadian University he plans to play at later this month.
Wellington Dukes defender Quinn Hanna was the runner up.
The Dukes and Golden Hawks were the top two teams in the league this season and were scheduled to meet in a second round playoff matchup before the season was cancelled due to COVID-19.
