The Belleville Police Service responded to 88 calls for service between April 2, 2020 at 5 a.m. and April 3, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Domestic-related arrests
On April 2, 2020 at 12:01 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Catharine Street. One of the occupants of the car, a 24-year-old male, was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant. The charges stem from a domestic-related incident. He was held for a bail hearing.
On April 2, 2020 at 5:54 p.m., police attended at a disturbance at an apartment complex on Victoria Avenue. Upon arrival a male party was being restrained by several other persons. The restrained 35-year-old man was violating several conditions of his probation including being at the Victoria Avenue address. He was charged with three counts of breach of probation and held for a bail hearing. These charges stem from a domestic-related incident.
On April 2, 2020 at 7:48 p.m., an officer on patrol recognized a male on Front Street who was wanted on outstanding warrants. The 25-year-old Deseronto man was arrested and released with a court date of June 8, 2020. These charges stem from a domestic-related incident.
Traffic Enforcement
On April 2, 2020 at 10:25 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on George Street. The driver, a 45-year-old man, was charged with driving while under suspension. He will appear in Traffic Court on June 1, 2020.
On April 2, 2020 at 3:50 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Everett Street. The driver, a 33-year old man, was charged with driving while under suspension. He will appear in Traffic Court on June 1st, 2020.
On April 2nd, 2020 at 4:15 p.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop on Moira Street West. The driver, a 49-year-old woman, was charged with driving without insurance. She will appear in Traffic Court on June 1, 2020.
Mischief to Property
On April 2, 2020 at 1:01 p.m., police attended at a business on Frankford Road in Foxboro in relation to a damaged lawn overnight. A witness provided information that a dark-coloured pickup truck was observed doing “donuts” on the lawn. The truck was last seen driving south on Hwy 62. Recovered stolen vehicle
On April 2, 2020 at 12:51 p.m., police attended at an east end business regarding the theft of a van. A male had entered an unplated black Dodge Caravan and driven away. A suspect was identified throughout the day. On April 3 at 2:25 a.m., police attended at 180 Haig Road and located the suspect in the hallway. The suspect fled on foot but was captured after a short foot pursuit. The 47-year-old Belleville man was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing on April 3, 2020. The van was located by the OPP abandoned on the 401 just east of Belleville.
Intoxicated person
On April 3, 2020 at 3:10 a.m., police attended at an apartment complex on Dundas Street East regarding a disturbance. A 29-year-old woman was arrested for her own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. She was issued a provincial offence notice for being intoxicated in a public place.
