The Quinte West Fire Chief says emergency responders had to use personal protective equipment after a morning crash.
Around 8:45 a.m. Thursday, Quinte West Fire, OPP, and EMS were called to the roundabout at Hamilton and RCAF roads.
A driver of a vehicle had slammed into the roundabout, causing a single vehicle crash.
Chief John Whalen says the occupant was passed out when they arrived, briefly awoke and claimed he had the flu, and passed out again.
Responders put on their PPE and took the occupant to Trenton Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The OPP are continuing their investigation.
