The Belleville Police Service responded to 55 calls from April 1st 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to April 2nd 2020 at 5:00 am.
Traffic enforcement
On April 1st 2020 at 11:37 a.m., a police officer on general patrol stopped a motor vehicle in the Catharine Street and Everett Street area. This investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle to have had his driver’s licence suspended. Kevin Lloyd Flood, a 49-year old man from Flinton, Ontario was issued a part 3 summons for the offence of driving while under suspension contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. Flood is expected to appear in Provincial Offences Court on June 1st.
Theft and use of a credit card
On April 1st 2020 at 4:16 p.m., police met with the victim of a stolen credit card on Front Street. Investigation revealed the card was stolen within the last two days, and had been compromised for the use of two unauthorized transactions within the city. These transactions occurred before the complainant was aware the card had been stolen, and reported as such. An investigation is continuing. Bicycle theft
On April 1st 2020 at 4:54 p.m., police were called to a residence on Cannifton Road for a reported theft of a bicycle within the last few days. The two-wheeler is described as a “Hyper” cycle – black, grey, and lime-green in colour. There are no known suspect(s) for this theft. The investigation is continuing.
