Man arrested for breaching conditions
On March 28, 2020 at 8:05 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a call regarding suspicious persons at the former Quinte Secondary School property. On arrival, police identified a man and woman on the property. Police were originally given a false name for the woman, however, after confirming the identify of both parties, police learned the man was on recognizance conditions not to communicate with the woman relating to a previous domestic related charge. An 18-year-old Belleville man was arrested for breaching his recognizance. He was released on an undertaking with a court date of June 1, 2020.
Arrest for domestic assault
On March 28, 2020 at 10:45 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a call at an east end address regarding a man and woman involved in a domestic dispute. On arrival, police noticed a woman who had a swollen eye from being punched in the face. A 35-year-old Belleville man, who was still at the address, was arrested. He will face charges for domestic assault, and is scheduled to appear in court on June 1. The woman was treated at the scene by paramedics for her injuries. The man’s name is not being released at this time to protect the identity of the victim.
