Hastings County council received an update from its departments on Thursday regarding the county’s participation in the ongoing effort to control the COVID-19 pandemic.
County CAO Jim Pine noted he was in day eight of self-isolation after returning from a trip to the United States.
Pine tells Quinte News the county services touch a lot of people across the county and in the two cities of Belleville and Quinte West.
He noted the county has two long term care homes.
Pine emphasized they’re doing everything they can to make sure those services continue because there are so many people to support in the community.
He continued, “The department heads gave county council an overview of the specific actions that we’ve taken to date. We’ve put ourselves in a good spot to continue to respond to the pandemic.”
Warden Rick Phillips spoke to Quinte News.
He feels very confident in what staff is accomplishing.
